John is a Department of Building and Housing Licensed building practitioner.
John and Katie moved to New Zealand from the UK 12 years ago, having already developed a small, but successful building business there. On arrival in Golden Bay, John initially worked as a contract carpenter for other local builders and then, eight years ago, made the jump to starting his own business again, initially called John Lavers Building. We rebranded early in 2015 as Aorere Construction Ltd.
Additional to John’s 15 years building experience, Aorere Construction employs a number of qualified contractors as work requires.
Aorere Construction has a strong focus on local community. “We employ local staff and contractors wherever possible. We are proud supporters of Collingwood’s local fire service and Health Centre, and various other community teams and projects throughout Golden Bay,” says John.
